Former Manchester United defender Phil Jones has revealed that team-mate Nani threatened to punch him during their playing days.

Back in April 2012, the Red Devils suffered a shock 0-1 defeat to Wigan, which ultimately led to them missing out on the Premier League title that year, with Manchester City going on to claim the trophy.

Jones started the game and was on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes, while Nani came on as a substitute in the 65th minute for Wayne Rooney after the team conceded a goal to Shaun Maloney in the 50th minute. There was dissatisfaction with the play, with the Portuguese star verbally abusing him and threatening physical harm.

Jones told Rio Ferdinand on YouTube: “I remember the game we played against Wigan and it almost cost us the league title. We lost 1-0 in 90 minutes. Nani, my God, he was doing all kinds of tricks on the sidelines.”

“I was like, ‘Just give me the ball, give me the ball,’ and then I was yelling at him, ‘Give me the damn ball.’ Then we went into the locker room after the game Promotion ufabet and he came in and yelled at me, ‘I’m going to punch you, you’re going to get me.'”

“I was stunned. l didn’t know what was going to happen. Then the manager came in and shouted at everyone to sit down. So, thank you, boss!”
